what's children's choir like?
Faith's children's choir is so much more than singing--it's time with friends, having fun, praying and learning together about Jesus.
Open to any child ages 4 and up, this type of small group for kids meets on Sundays from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in room 49. Singing is just a way we praise Jesus and have fun, so no music experience is necessary. The only requirement is a willingness to love God and love each other.
As often as possible, we'll head outside to sing and play (but we'll always start and end up in our room). Our room will be cleaned and sanitized before and after we meet.
Leah Guizar leads a team of dedicated adults and teens in the children's choir ministry. All adults working with our children have clearances on file at the church.
Sometimes the children's choir sings at the 8:15 AM or 10:45 AM worship gatherings. No dates are scheduled currently, but updates to the schedule are shared regularly with kids' adults.
We usually open our time with a prayer, then share "prayers and praises" with each other. We learn about Jesus through the Bible, and then spend about 15-30 minutes in a musical activity (using our voices, signing with our hands, playing instruments, and more). We finish with praying together.
Parents and other adults of kids are welcome to stay for children's choir, but not required--it’s okay either way. We'd love to have help from kids' adults for a few minutes at the end of our time to tidy up and clean the room.
