Bridge of Hope

one of Faith's partners in ministry

Faith Church is proud to partner with Bridge of Hope Centre County as together we continue to "engage Christian faith communities in ending family homelessness through neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ’s love."

WHAT: Night In A Car is a homelessness simulation that shines a spotlight on the hidden aspect of homelessness that many in our community experience--living in their cars. Participants will "live" out of their cars during the overnight hours.

WHEN: Friday, March 24 starting at 7:00 pm until Saturday, March 25 at 7:00 am

WHERE: Join us at Trinity Lutheran Church in State College (2221 N Oak Ln) for our "drive-in" option. We will have access to bathrooms, hot drinks and snacks, and we will also be joined by a food truck for dinner on Friday evening. Note: If joining us in person isn't an option, you can "zoom-in" from your own driveway!

WHY: Your participation helps those in need right here in Centre County. When you reach your fundraising goal you and all of your supporters allow local families to gain stability and begin to initiate steps toward ending the cycle of family homelessness and poverty. You help provide others the opportunity to a fresh start!

HOW:

1. Register as an individual or as a team - challenge friends, family and coworkers to join you!

2. Set a fundraising goal.

3. Spread the word and start collecting donations!

“You don’t know what it’s really like until you experience it.”

“We do this so that nobody HAS to do what we are CHOOSING to do.”

“This really drives empathy for those who experience homelessness.”

partnering to end family homelessness in Centre County

Bridge of Hope Centre County launched in 2007 as local church communities felt the desire to engage in meaningful relationships with families facing homelessness.

In June 2009, the first single mother and her child were matched with a group of Neighboring Volunteers. Word about Bridge of Hope spread in our community and today churches continue to step forward to be involved.

As of April 2018, they have helped 19 women and 35 children get out of homelessness. Faith Church is proud to partner with Bridge of Hope Centre County as together we continue to "engage Christian faith communities in ending family homelessness through neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ’s love."
